Hi, my friend bought a car of some random guy on 3-19-09 and she has not registered it under her name yet, as the tags are not expired until late Dec 2009. Now i was doing repairs on the car, took it for a test drive, and got cited over by a peace officer for being on the cell phone. Now, since my friend hasn't registered it or no gotten insurance. My ticket says No proof of insurance...Am i financially responsible for this ticket? i am guilty for being on the phone, but the insurance? Ticket was issued on 4-11-09 I live in CA Thanks guys

Why is health insurance so hard to get?

I'm almost 20 years old, a full time student and do not have health insurance. When I was 16, my parents switched insurance companies, and for some reason or other they did not put me on their policy. So I have not had insurance for 3 years. In February I found out I was pregnant so I began applying for Medicaid. Before all the paperwork was done, I had miscarried and in the process racked up almost $6000 in medical bills. I went to the medicaid office and they told me that they would cover my bills even though I was no longer pregnant and college students don't qualify. After 2 months of waiting, Medicaid denied me and the hospital turned me into a collection agency. I was denied because I make too much money. I make $8.55 an hour and work about 15 hours a week. Yes I do make good money for a student but I have worked at the business for 3 1/2 years. Because I am not a full time employee, I don't qualify for insurance, but only managers and department heads are full time. I can't get a second job to help pay the costs because my first job wont work around another one, and I can't find a full time job because no where is hiring. Plus it would be very hard to find anywhere that pays as well as the job I have here. So if health insurance is so important to have, then why is it so hard to obtain?

MY CAR AND THE OTHER CAR INVOLVED WERE PARKED IN THE PARKING LOT WHERE WE BOTH WORK WHICH IS PRIVATE PROPERTY.I DON'T KNOW IF THAT MATTERS,BUT I'VE HEARD IT DOES.WE CAME OUT AFTER WORK AND HER CAR WAS INTO MINE,BUT EVERYONE THOUGHT MY CAR ROLLED INTO HERS.THERE ARE NO WITNESSES I DON'T HAVE INSURANCE AND SHE DOES.AM I AT FAULT REGARDLESS?NOONE KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED AND MY CAR WAS IN PARK AND WHEN SHE MOVED HER CAR THE COPS PUSHED AND PUSHED ON MINE AND IT DID NOT BUDGE.AND THERE WAS NOT ANY SIGN OF SOMEONE BUMPING INTO EITHER OF OUR CARS.IT DIDN'T DO MUCH DAMAGE,BUT SHE TOLD ME THE ESTIMATE IS FOR OVER 2,000. THE ONLY THING THAT HAPPENED WAS,IT LEFT HER SIDE MIRROR HANGING AND CRACKED HER WINDSHIELD,BUT SHE ADMITTED THE MIRROR WAS ALREADY BROKEN.HOW DO I KNOW THE DAMAGE THAT WAS EVIDENT WASN'T ALREADY DONE?PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME DO I HAVE ANY GROUND TO STAND ON IN DEFENSE??BY THE WAY I LIVE IN TENNESSEE!!!

I'm selling my car but my insurance expired one year ago since I moved out of the state and left my car at my husband's mom's. Now I want to sell it so posted it online and somebody wanted to look at it, so I asked husband's mom to meet with the guy. Then she says she would let him look at the car but since the insurance has expired, she wouldn't let him drive. I mean who would buy a used car without test driving right? According to her, if the buyer got into accident, I would get sued or something like that. Is that correct? She tends to say things she doesn't really know but she likes talking about legal issues.
